On May 25, 2026, Cummins held the ceremony of Cummins Mining Centennial Journey in China & Delivery of Domestic QSK60 Mining Engines at Chongqing Cummins Engine Company Limited, its global intelligent manufacturing base for high-horsepower engines. At the event, Cummins and XCMG Group jointly delivered the first domestically built QSK60 mining engine to the Yimin customer. This marks a new phase for Cummins in local manufacturing and delivery of high-horsepower mining power solutions in China, and further demonstrates its long-term commitment to deepening its presence in China’s mining market.

Besides XCMG Group, representatives from major OEMs including Northern Heavy Industries, Sany Heavy Machinery, LiuGong Group and CNGC, as well as numerous mining clients, attended the event. It reflects the industry partners’ keen attention to Cummins’ local manufacturing and collaborative development of mining power products.
Century-old heritage
As a key player in the global mining power sector, Cummins boasts a century of profound expertise in the mining industry. Its engagement with China’s mining community dates back to 1975, when its very first client in China was a mining operator. Over the years, focusing on customers’ demands for high reliability, high availability, high efficiency and full-lifecycle value, Cummins has steadily strengthened its capabilities in product development, application engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and after-sales service.
Starting from early cooperation with local OEMs, to adapting to China’s diverse and harsh mining operating conditions and optimizing product matching and service support systems, Cummins has witnessed and deeply participated in the leapfrog development of China’s mining equipment and power industry.
Xiao Yunbo, Dean of XCMG Mining Research Institute, and Gao Xiaofeng, General Manager of Industrial Market, Cummins Power Systems China, jointly delivered the first domestically-produced QSK60 mining engine to Yimin.
