On May 21, 2026, the 8th Western China International Investment and Trade Fair (hereinafter referred to as the Western China Fair) officially opened at Chongqing International Expo Center. Chongqing Cummins showcased its 19L methanol engine and the new-platform electronically controlled QSK38 engine at the event.
At the booth of Chongqing Machinery & Electric Group, Chongqing Cummins displayed its multi-fuel platform 19L methanol engine.
Equipped with port multi-point injection, high-energy ignition system, Miller-cycle dedicated camshaft and high-efficiency turbocharger, this engine delivers efficient methanol combustion and reliable cold start at low temperatures. It achieves a thermal efficiency of 44.6% and operates stably in environments ranging from -35℃ to 50℃.
Key components are designed with methanol resistance and anti-corrosion properties for high reliability and long service life. Compared with diesel engines, it cuts carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 18%, reducing carbon output by around 45 tons per 1,000 operating hours. Emissions of NOx, PM, CO and other pollutants are also greatly lowered.
At the Chongqing Pavilion in the Central Hall, the new-platform electronically controlled QSK38 engine by Chongqing Cummins drew widespread attention.
Fitted with a brand-new two-stage turbocharging system and Cummins high-pressure common rail fuel system, it supports highly efficient combustion and delivers a maximum power output of 1548 kW. Its transient response performance complies with ISO 8528 G3 standard, reaching an advanced industry level. This engine is widely used in power generation, marine engineering, construction machinery and other fields.
